ROANOKE, Va. (WFXR) — On Tuesday morning, Dr. Cynthia Morrow — the director of the Roanoke City and Alleghany Health Districts — will hold a virtual briefing about the local coronavirus response and vaccination efforts around the Roanoke Valley and the Alleghany Highlands.

Central, SWVA struggling to meet Biden’s COVID-19 vaccination goal

This online briefing comes after the Virginia Department of Health (VDH) reported 132 new COVID-19 cases, 12 new virus-related hospitalizations, and three new virus-related deaths around the Commonwealth as of Tuesday, July 6.

The VDH says nine of those new cases are from the following localities in the Roanoke City and Alleghany Health Districts:

  • Alleghany County: Zero new cases
  • Botetourt County: One new case
  • Covington: Zero new cases
  • Craig County: Zero new cases
  • Roanoke City: Four new cases
  • Roanoke County: Three new cases
  • Salem: One new case

Meanwhile, the Roanoke City and Alleghany Health Districts are offering first-dose COVID-19 vaccine opportunities in the coming weeks at mobile clinics, which are listed below:
